Mozzarella & Prosciutto Stuffed Pizza Dough Christmas Tree

Ingredients

For the tree:

  • 2 rolls Pillsbury pizza crust, or 1 lb pizza dough
  • 1 pound bocconcini mozzarella approximately, *you will need 29 pieces to make the Christmas tree
  • 0.5 lb prosciutto slices, torn into pieces
  • 1 large egg , beaten
  • Dried oregano as desired
  • Garlic powder as desired
  • Grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese as desired
  • Cherry tomatoes and rosemary sprigs for decor

Directions

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees 

Unroll the pizza dough and roll it out on a clean surface using a rolling pin to make it an even layer.

Using a knife or a pizza cutter, cut out squares about 3x3 inches. You will need 29 pieces of dough to make the tree.

Using a paper towel, dry off the bocconcini. Wrap each one in prosciutto and enclose in the dough, rolling to seal the edges.

Arrange the balls on a parchment lined baking sheet into a tree shape

Brush with the beaten egg, and then sprinkle generously with oregano, garlic powder and cheese. 

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the tree has developed some color.

Broil for 2 minutes for some extra browning.
