Sorrento With Rossella Culinary Tour - 2014

Only a few spots are still available to join me!

Make your reservations ASAP!!!

My Dear Friends,

I am so happy to announce my new “Sorrento with Rossella” Culinary Tour which will be during the week of Aug. 30 to Sept 6, 2014. Once again, to make this dream come true, I have teamed with my friends at Divine Amalfi Villas, who share the same love and passion as I do about Italy.  Together, we will indulge you with traditional masterpiece dishes of Campania, made with the highest quality of local and seasonal ingredients.

Throughout the week, you will learn how to select the core of the dishes by visiting local markets, vineyards and manufacturers that produce the staples of the Italian cuisine. In the cooking lessons at the villa, where I will be assisted by  Nonna Rosa and other chefs, we will teach you to cook the Neapolitan way.  To get another taste of the local perspective, you will also dine with us in various restaurants including two Michelin-rated restaurants.

See for yourself why Campania was regarded as a place of culture by the Roman emperors.  As we travel  around the Amalfi Coast, you will withness the ruins left behind by the ancient Greeks and Romans. We have designed an incredible week for you to capture all the natural beauties and marvels that the Amalfi Coast has to offer.

I hope all of you will join me on this fantastic tour, but hurry, reserve your spot as this will be a very small and cozy group! See details below!

Tanti Baci,

Rossella

Itinerary

When Life Hands You Lemons, Make Limoncello
Sunday -  Today will be a day to relax and have your first cooking lesson.  After breakfast, we will head to the center of Sant’ Agata to gather our groceries in  specialized shops.  Then we return to the villa for a little “r and r” and  lunch.

Before tonight’s cooking lesson, there will be a Limoncello demonstration with lemons picked from the garden of the Villa.

The evening will end with the delicious meal that Rossella and  Nonna Rosa will demonstrate for you.  You will be more than welcome to actively participate in the preparation of the dinner.

Life is Too Short for Bad Wine
Monday - First, we will begin the day with a luscious breakfast, and then it is off to see the preparation of the backbone of most authentic Italian dishes, Pasta! We will visit an artisanal Pasta factory in Gragnano where some of the best pasta in the world is made.

Next, we will take a ride to a winery near Mt. Vesuvius for a wine tasting and a bite to eat under a gazebo.  A week in Campania wouldn’t be complete without witnessing the effects that Mt. Vesuvius had on the region.  We will  visit the Pompeii ruins including a private 90 minute guided tour.  On our way back to the villa we will stop at a local Osteria for a traditional family style dinner.

There's Always Room for Pizza
Tuesday - The Amalfi coast is the birthplace of Pizza and you just cannot go home without having learned the art of making Pizza.  On this day, you will learn how to make and bake your own pizza in the wood oven at the villa and enjoy it on the terrace facing Capri and the Vesuvius.

Spend the afternoon in Sorrento before dinner at an enchating seafood restaurant on the Sorrento coast.

Say Cheese!!!
Wednesday - Following breakfast , today we will make our way to the water buffalo farm Tenuta Vannulo to observe the art of  making buffalo mozzarella. Don’ worry, there will be plenty of sampling of the finished products during an exquisite lunch at the farm!

Next we depart for a  wine tasting  at a Michelin-rated vineyard   Feudi di San Gregorio, followed by dinner at the winery.

Coast the Coast
Thursday - We begin the day with breakfast, and then take in breathe-taking views from the Amalfi Coast as we tour and visit Positano.  While in this posh seaside beauty, we will sightsee and shop.  Lunch will be on your own today, but don’t get too full because later we’ll be feasting on the courses from tonight’s cooking lesson from Rossella and Nonna Rosa.

Seize the Day
Friday - There is a saying in Italian, “Dolce far Niente”, the sweetness of nothing.  That’s exactly what is planned for the day.  Between breakfast and dinner the day is yours to do whatever you would like in the Amalfi Coast... and whatever your desires are... we will help you make them happen. However, weather permitting, we are going for a stroll on that beautiful island that you see in the photos... you know... Capri. Of course you are all welcome to come along!

We have picked out a phenomenal Michelin-rated restaurant in Sorrento, Il Buco, for our last dinner together.

Come as Guests, Leave as Friends
Saturday - There will be one final breakfast at the villa and then we depart for the  Naples Airport or train station for your return home.  If you need assistance making different travel arrangements, we are here to help you.
