I wish La Famiglia would have a spot on the FN as this is the closest I've come across to what we used to eat. Also I wish there were more adaptations of food from the Northern Italian area, such as Bolzano where I am from. The food is so different and delicious. I remember as a child we did not have the red marinara sauce all the time, only on occasion. And many of the meals resembled German cooking since Bolzano was occupied by Germans as well as Italians. Even to this day menus will be printed in German as well as Italian. My Nonna's claim to fame was her spectacular Apfelstrudel! It seemed as if everything was made from apples, including the red sauce. Please give a recipe for Fiadone. It is similar to a calzone but it's crust is like a puff pastry and the inside has (4) different types of cheese. Thanks! Show more
