I am 77 years old widow who loves to cook for my family of 4 married children with 15 grandchildren and 9 great great grand children. And for my friends. I learned how to cook just by looking at pictures, thoughts and taste buds in my mouth. I follow no recipes for meals. It's always my own version of what I am cooking but with the title of what it's basically suppose to be. Never had any complaints. I do bake also but don't follow step by step for a cake or what ever I am making. I throw the ingredients together as I please and it always comes out perfect and delicious. I don't have the patience to read a recipe. The past few years I have been baking a few of my favorite Italian cookies and they come out just as good as in the bakery. I have enjoyed buying cookbooks for years and never bother to read them. I love looking at the pictures and making some of the dishes, my own version. I now have passed most of my cook books on to my grandchildren which are still like brand new. And they are enjoying them. I love looking at your page and seeing all the delicious cookies and say that I will make this or that but always seem to stick to my favorites that I have been making. Biscotti, Anisette cookies, Pizelles, Cream Puffs, Struffoli. I want to make Cannoli but have to get the tube for that. My big challenge will be to make Sfogliatelle. That would be so good to master.
